The Chase is a ground breaking free running display.
The event also features unique urban arts and sports performances including film, graffiti, street dance, boxing, skateboarding and scootering. Plus the brilliant Blaze Boom Bike Big Band.
The high altitude piece will be performed at 3pm and again at 4pm in the car park at the Tesco store on Eagle Street.
Young producers from London 2012 Inspire mark project Blaze have been working with Manchester-based creative workshop and event specialists, Spearfish, and Lancashire Young People’s Service in Hyndburn, to build the performance around a bespoke portable free running structure designed by award winning Dutch architect and graffiti artist, Zedz. They've also worked closely with Darren Pritchard, founder of contemporary dance academy Company Fierce and Accrington-based Huckleberry Films to choreograph the piece.
The stunning display will premiere in Accrington on August Bank Holiday Monday before being shown to a larger audience at the Blaze Festival in Preston as part of the WE PLAY Expo - a whole weekend of unmissable free events to celebrate our region's contribution to the 2012 Games.
Fantastic event with lots of talent on show. The journey the young people have been on has been incredible to watch.
